With a fresh perspective and a dynamic approach, he leads the national strategy for tourism development and promotion. H.E. Sok Soken brings a wealth of experience in public service and a deep commitment to enhancing Cambodia’s tourism sector. Since his appointment, H.E. Sok Soken has outlined a clear vision to transform Cambodia into a world-renowned tourist destination, in line with the political platform of the Royal Government of Cambodia of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly. He has set three strategic goals to achieve this vision: promoting competitive tourism, ensuring sustainable tourism, and fostering inclusive tourism. To achieve these goals, H.E. Sok Soken is leading the implementation of five strategic pillars, known as BUILD, and three priority supporting areas, referred to as 3Ds, to advance tourism development in Cambodia. This initiative aims to align and implement key tourism policies and strategic plans to effectively support the Royal Government’s efforts across all sectors from 2023 to 2028. Speaking at a meeting with around 400 leaders and officials of the Ministry of Tourism, H.E. Sok Soken emphasized the importance of collaboration among all parties involved in the tourism industry. The ministry has a vision to receive 6.4 million international and 16.7 million local tourists by 2025, and 7 million international and 17 million national tourists by 2026. Through his strategic leadership and unwavering dedication, H.E. Sok Soken is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing Cambodia’s tourism sector, ensuring that it remains a vital part of the nation’s economy and cultural heritage.

Prior to this role, Patrine served as the Chief Commercial Officer of Cambodia Airports, a subsidiary of VINCI Airports, in 2012-2016. She was responsible for developing the aeronautical and non-aeronautical businesses of all three international gateways into Cambodia: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville. With her team of dedicated professionals, she grew passenger traffic at 13% CAGR to >7-million annually, improved the destination awareness of the country in untapped markets, and oversaw the retail execution of an ambitious airport extension project to double the capacity of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap International Airports.
